Bogeys and Bell Sleeves: a Tale of Upcoming Golf Tournaments and What the Heck to Wear to Them
Hello golf fans! Or fans of finding a reason to sit outside in a cute outfit drinking beer? Either way, we've got the inside scoop on the upcoming Tournaments in the DFW area, so you can pretend you knew this information all along. We’ll also give a few outfit tips while we’re at it. You’re welcome.
For starters, the two Tournaments taking place are the Byron Nelson (May 9-12) and the Colonial (May 23-26), both in the DFW area.
Byron Nelson (May 9-12):
Established in 1944, the Tournament itself is named after the first winner Byron Nelson, who was born in Fort Worth, TX in 1912. It will be hosted this year at the Trinity Forest Golf Club.
Colonial (May 23-26):
Also called the Fort Worth Invitational, this Tournament was established in 1946, and is hosted at the Colonial Country Club. Ben Hogan (also born in Fort Worth, TX in 1912) was the first winner, and actually won the tournament five times, ultimately obtaining the reputation of being one of the greatest players in the history of golf.
Back to fashion. You’ll most likely be walking quite a bit, from hole to hole, out in the sun, or sitting in the grass when you don’t care any longer about whatever the hell a “bogey” is. With all of that said, we are going to recommend lightweight materials that will keep you cool, a hat for sun protection (but make it fashun), and a comfortable platform sandal or sneaker to keep your feet happy and your outfit in check.
Here are some of our favorites that we just got in:
Jumpsuits and Rompers
Dress and Hat combo
Shorts and Tank
You can shop these options on our website, or come into any of our three locations! We’ll help you find that hole-in-one look. You know you loved that.
